साक्षी देहनाशे न नश्यति

Seer is not destroyed with the physical body

घटावभासको भानुर्घटनाशे न नश्यति ।
देहावभासकः साक्षी देहनाशे न नश्यति ।। – आत्मबोध उपनिषद् 18

Meaning

Like Sun who shine within the pot, but Sun doesn’t get destroyed with the destruction of the pot. Similarly the one who make this physical body shine (Atman ), he doesn’t die with the death of the body.

अवभासक – means Luminous  (अव + भास—णिच् ण्वुल् )
