Shankaracharya
Adi Shankara had established four mutts across the country to propagate the Vedas and Vedanta Philosophy. The title of Shankaracharya is given to the heads of these mutts, so they are known as Shankaracharya.

Located in the Chamoli, Uttarakhand. Trotokacharya was the first Acharya assigned to the mutt by Adi Shankara. This mutt is custodian of the Atharva Veda

Located in Puri, Odisha. Padmapada was the first Acharya assigned to the mutt by Adi Shankara. This mutt is custodian of the Rig Veda
