Om Tat Sat (ओम् तत् सत् ) are the three names of Brahman or the supreme god. These names are mentioned in Bhagavata Gita 17.23

Bhagavata Gita explains in Chapter 17, that these three names should used when doing yagna, charity or tapasya.

Om Tat Sat – Sanskrit with meaning

तत्सदिति निर्देशो ब्रह्मणस्त्रिविधः स्मृतः।
ब्राह्मणास्तेन वेदाश्च यज्ञाश्च विहिताः पुरा !!

Hindi Meaning

‘ऊँ, तत् सत्’ यह ब्रह्म का त्रिविध नाम कहे गये है, उसी से आदिकाल में ब्राहम्ण, वेद और यज्ञ निर्मित हुए हैं।।

English Meaning

Om Tat Sat” there are the three names of Brahman. He is the one who created the Brahmanas, the Vedas and the sacrifices at the beginning.

Meaning of ब्रह्मण: and ब्राह्मणा:

ब्रह्मण: – means the Supreme God ( not Lord Brahma) – ब्रह्मन् , नपुंसकलिंग , षष्ठी, एकवचन

ब्राह्मणा: – portion of the Vedas – ब्राह्मण , पुलिंग , प्रथमा , बहुवचन
