Krishna called as Vasudeva (वासुदेव)
Lord Krishna’s father name was वसुदेव
Lord Krishna have another name as वासुदेव ( वसुदेवस्य अपत्यम्)
In English language these words may sound or written similar as “Vasudeva”, but they are not similar in Sanskrit.
In Sanskrit there is a suffix, which when added to a name of person, gives a name of offspring (अपत्य) of that person.
Sanskrit Sutra for the same is – तस्यापत्यम् 4.1.92 which means “To indicate the meaning of ‘his/her offspring“
When we add suffix (इञ्) to the word वसुदेव, it becomes वासुदेव
वासुदेव — means “an offspring or son of वसुदेव “
